New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conferencing meeting with all the Chief Ministers of all the States and Union Territories on Monday and thanked them for their pro-active work during this pandemic of COVID-19, and asked them to suggests the ‘strategy’ on Lockdown by May 15.
PM said in a statement, “I (PM Modi) request you all to share with me by May 15, a general strategy on how each one of you would want to deal with lockdown management in your particular states. I want states to make a blueprint on how to deal with various differences during and after a gradual easing of Lockdown.” He further said, “That quarantining of all the Indians returning from abroad is the most compulsion.”
He also highlighted that the lockdown measures of the third phase wouldn’t be required in the fourth phase. As we know that the measures we need in the first phase Lockdown weren’t required in the second phase Lockdown the same as the measures we needed in the third phase won’t be needed in the fourth phase.
But also said that the restrictions like night curfew and curbs on public transport would be the same in Red Zones.
Some sources of Government says many states have asked for an extension of the Lockdown. Also requested to change the Red Zones districts into particular zones.
While Punjab CM Amarinder Singh pitched for an extension, with the strategy coated with “financial and economic empowerment of the states.”
Whereas CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar conveyed that extension would help his state to deal with migrants who are returning home in a large number.
India’s Covid-19 tally crosses 67,000. However, Indian Railways have stared their passenger trains operations on particular set routes, and also rumors are being heard that domestic flight services may also be started after May 17.
